Marabu Fun & Fancy Tips & Techniques
  • Marabu Fun & Fancy is a water based, peelable glass paint used to produce peelable decals which can then be applied to glass, ceramic or other clean smooth surfaces.

  • Beginners often find Fun & Fancy easier to use as you are always working on a flat surface which can then be transferred to a bottle, window or vase when finished.

  • Outliner and paint can be applied straight from the squeezable bottle's fine nozzle onto a polypropylene sheet. (This means a punched pocket, or other inexpensive plastic office folder.)

  • Place the sheet on a flat surface and draw or trace the outline, making sure to join all the edges. (It is particularly important at this stage to ensure the edges really are joined, as the outliner gives the finished decal more strength.) Leave outliner to dry completely.

  • Colour your design starting from the centre of the area and spreading out to meet the outliner. Again, it is important not to leave any unintentional gaps which might tear when repositioning.

  • When completely dry, your decal will peel easily from the sheet and can be applied to any clean glossy surface. While best effects can be seen on clear surfaces which allow the transparent colours to show, they can also be used on fridges, car doors, etc.

  • Painted surfaces vary, so experiment with a small one first!

  • Decals can be removed and repositioned many times, even after many months of use.
